Welcome to Art

I am excited to join the MSEC team and look forward to an amazing year of art making and building relationships. I have taught art for many years now. In 2019 I obtained my Master's of art in teaching at the Memphis College of Art.

 

My passion for art runs deep. This God-given gift has been made in-part with both my parents' efforts because the both are very creative individuals. My mother is perhaps my biggest advocate in nourishing my love for art. As a child, I received a saving bond worth $500 after winning 2nd place in the United States Treasury Poster Contest. I currently have work displayed throughout Memphis which include Methodist North Hospital, Chiropractic Solutions and murals throughout Kids Care Medical Center. I have been featured at the Dixon Gallery and Gardens as one of the 30-under-30 artists in the Metro area, and in 2014, I was selected as the Artist Spotlight in The Grind, a well-known online Memphis magazine. 

 

I enjoy painting portraits and murals. I also like to perform spoken word and poetry. I have a 13 year old son named Landon and the oldest of two with a brother who's only a year a three days apart from me.
