MSEEC STEM vision:

The STEM Program at the Memphis School of Excellence will inspire innovation, foster critical thinking, and cultivate leadership and problem-solving skills through relevant interdisciplinary learning experiences that effectively prepare students for their preferred choice of post-secondary pathway, in order to promote community and global citizenship through science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Science Buddies Mentorship Program

The Science Buddies Mentorship Program partners students in kindergarten with our 9th-grade Biology students to perform experiments and gain science skills such as observation, data collection, and forming hypotheses.

Project-Based Learning

Our students participate in project-based learning school-wide. In addition to regular in-class projects, we do schoolwide PBLs centered around anchor texts from “The Questioneers” series. See photos below from Rosie Revere, Engineer and Ada Twist, Scientist weeks!

In-Class Projects

Students participate in regular in-class science projects! Our teachers love bringing learning to
life with hands-on experiments and projects.
