4. The 2023 TCAP retake window of the ELA portion of the 3rd-grade assessment is May 22 – June 5.
 
5. Parent/Guardian Appeal Process (Opens May 26th, Due by June 23rd):
 
If the student scores “Approaching,” Parents/Guardians can appeal for 2 reasons: The student scores above the 40th percentile on the Spring Universal Screener for ELA (MAP) A catastrophic situation occurred during the days leading up to the third (3rd) grade ELA TCAP test administration that impacted the student and impeded the student’s ability to perform on the test. Examples of a catastrophic situation include but are not limited to, a death in the immediate family, loss of a family home, or significant medical diagnosis If the student scores “Below,” Parents/Guardians can appeal for 1 reason: A catastrophic situation occurred during the days leading up to the third (3rd) grade ELA TCAP test administration that impacted the student and impeded the student’s ability to perform on the test. Examples of a catastrophic situation include but are not limited to, a death in the immediate family, loss of a family home, or significant medical diagnosis
