Families should plan to pick students up by 2:00 each Wednesday; buses will depart early as well. Aftercare (information below) will be available for the parents who can’t pick up their students on time. Please note that the first day of school falls on a Wednesday and will therefore be an abbreviated day.
Based on surveys of teachers and administrators, more protected time is needed for teachers to engage in data analysis, PLCs, structured work time, and other professional development. Our hope is that by adding the abbreviated day, we will provide teachers with additional time during contract hours to engage in opportunities that have a positive impact on the quality of instruction and student achievement. By providing teachers with this time, we believe our students will have access to even stronger classroom instruction and achieve even more.
Like any new process, we anticipate that there may be some bumps in the road, but campus and network administrators will regularly review the process, take feedback, and make adjustments to ensure that the abbreviated days have the desired effect. If you have any questions about the abbreviated days, feel free to reach out to your building principal.
Sincerely,
Samuel Beyhan

- Bus riders and car riders will be dismissed each Wednesday at 1:35 PM beginning the first day of school, Wednesday, August 3rd.
- Car riders will be picked up in the car rider lane. Each family will be provided with a car tag during the first week of school. This tag should be displayed on the dashboard to expedite the process. For the safety of our students, parents should remain in their cars at all times.
- The YWCA has options for parents who wish to enroll their child in after-care for a Wednesday-only reduced fee. The contact for the Y-Care coordinator, Ms. Anna Bagley, is 901- 320-6021, [email protected]. Sign-up will be available in the front office and during Orientation, Friday, July 29th.
