We had almost 100% completion in our parent choice survey, and 75% of our families chose the virtual option for the semester. For those of you who chose the in-person option, know that as soon as it is safe to do so, we will be ready to open our doors to your students.
Since last spring, we have spent a tremendous amount of time developing our virtual model and want to reassure parents that the learning experience will be nothing like this spring. Our teacher PD this year will focus on preparing teachers to deliver effective virtual instruction and communicate effectively with parents and students in a virtual environment. Students will have access to a school-provided device, daily face to face lessons with their teachers, small group check-ins to support their social-emotional learning, and all of the services (SPED, ELL, etc.) that they would get if they attended school in person. We have developed a clear communication plan to ensure that parents and students are receiving regular feedback from their teachers and have access to all the tools they need for successful virtual learning. We're even working to provide after school clubs to students virtually.
The first day of school is on 8/24. As we draw closer to school starting, campuses will be sending specific plans for device distribution and information about parent training for technology and our virtual learning plan. Our front offices are staffed everyday, so feel free to reach out if you have additional questions.
We are determined to provide our students with quality virtual instruction until it is safe for them to return to school. We appreciate all our families for all they have done to adapt to the changing situation; we know this has not been an easy time for families. We look forward to engaging with you and your students as we embark on a new year of learning!

Devices for Next Year
We have ordered additional devices and hotspots and are expecting over 800 chromebooks and 100 hotspots to arrive before school starts.
Once we receive all the shipments, each campus will communicate about their procedures for distributing devices to students. Each campus will organize parent training to help build familiarity with the devices and the online learning platforms we intend to utilize.
Please note that all devices are intended only to be used for instructional purposes. Hotspots will only work with devices that have been provided by the school; they will not work with personal devices.
